Using our custom built blend app, you can create your own coffee blend by adjusting fruitiness, body, and acidity with a simple slider. It is intuitive, interactive, and designed to be enjoyed.

As you experiment, we guide you. Our experience as roasters is built into the process, helping you find balance and get the best out of your blend. You do not need to know anything about coffee to get something great.

Blend Lab is New Zealand's first interactive coffee blend builder, developed by Rabbit Island Coffee Co. at Māpua Wharf in Nelson Tasman. Every blend is made up of three origins recommended to match your flavour profile, selected from freshly roasted stock and dispatched within 48 hours of ordering.

We roast every origin individually, three times a week. That means the components for any custom blend are always on hand and always fresh. When your order comes in, our app recommends the right three coffees for your profile and we blend them specifically for you.

Lab Reserve

Want to go further? Add Lab Reserve to your blend. Lab Reserve is a seasonal co-fermented coffee that rotates approximately every two months. The current release is a Rose Tea Honey from Colombian producer Jairo Arcila. It makes up 15% of your final blend and is only available while in season.

How fresh is the coffee? We roast three times a week and roast every origin individually. When you place an order we select from the most recently roasted stock available and dispatch within 48 hours.
